Sharine taylor

Sharine Taylor is a Toronto-based, award-winning director transitioning into production design.

Her approach to designing is informed by her desire to create a culturally-sensitive and relevant universe that creates intimacy between characters, their environment and audience. She is especially interested in showcasing the interiority of Black expression, life, characters and their narratives through screen-based world-building. Through directing and screenwriting, she thinks through the intersection of (un)belonging, memory, diaspora, identity and citizenship and is interested in showing Black life in all of its textures.

Sharine was the winner of a 2021 Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction in a Documentary Series. At 300K, Sharine is the in-house production manager and occasional producer.
